Volunteers for nature restoration

Cooperation between Latvia and Portugal

About the project

The main objective of the European Solidarity Corps is to promote solidarity as a value. Nature conservation is a great symbol of solidarity and a very good uniting element for young people from different cultures and backgrounds.

The aim of this project was to promote the social and environmental benefits of volunteering. The main focus of the project was raising young people’s awareness of current environmental and nature protection issues and the opportunities offered by non-governmental environmental organizations to preserve biological diversity.

In order to achieve the project’s objectives, an international volunteer camp was organized lasting 6 weeks, in which 8 young people from Latvia traveled to Portugal with the aim of raising awareness of biodiversity issues not only at the national level, but also on an international level. Young people from Latvia were joined by 4 volunteers from Portugal.

Duration of the project: 01/02/2022 to 30/11/2022
